The villa is envisioned as a subtraction of matter from a parallelepiped. The result is a dynamic combination of volumes with different shape and consistency. The succession of glazing and walls, the windows variable in size, the protruding and receding volumes express the tension among the parts of the building.
The project consists of two main criteria. In material terms a few elements, such as grey plaster and wood, combines each other. In spatial terms the design is focused on the relationship “interior-exterior” so as to support an extensive interpretation of domestic space.
The garden situated in the semi-basement level and spaces located next to the pool embody the idea of spatial interrelation which drives the design of the house and the outdoor spaces. Trajectories of motion and sequences of chained spaces are the key features of this articulated project which deeply works on the architectural composition of the lot.
The leading aim of the design is the creation of a multi-sensory experience based on the fusion of time, space, light and materials.
